One dead in shooting at Southside Walmart
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Police are investigating a fatal shooting at a Southside Walmart.
Shots rang out in the store parking lot on Beach Boulevard near Southside Boulevard shortly after 8 p.m.
JSO homicide detectives say two men were parked inside a car when a third man walked up to the vehicle and shot the man seated in the passenger seat.
The gunman ran off, and the driver raced the victim to a Kangaroo gas station on Southside Boulevard.
The driver told police he was scared so he drove away while calling 911. Lt. Jimmy Judge said, "He alleged he was scared and he wanted to get away. So he pulled into the first lit up area he saw."
An ambulance rushed the victim to Shands Jacksonville hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police made no arrests and have no suspects.
