JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Police say alcohol may have played a factor in a deadly car crash in Mandarin.

The crash happened just after 4:30 a.m. Monday at Interstate 95 and San Jose Boulevard.

Police say 22-year-old Jacob Lin-Justiniano lost control of his SUV and hit a guardrail on Interstate 295. Lin-Justiniano along with 3 other passengers were thrown from the vehicle.

All four people were taken to Orange Park Medical Center. 22-year-old Ronnie Powell died at the scene.

Lin-Justiniano is listed in critical condition.

Two other passengers, 21-year-old Fiona Castor and 23-year-old Qiante Jackson, are both in serious condition.

Police say none of the victims in the crash were wearing a seatbelt. They do believe alcohol was involved in the cause of the crash.
