ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. -- Law enforcement officers from several agencies were led on a chase after a traffic stop in St. Augustine.

The incident happened late Friday evening.

According to the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office, the St. Augustine Police Department originally pulled over a Chevrolet Impala with 3 individuals onboard.

The Impala took off only to be involved in a wreck with another vehicle near State Road 16.

The driver of the other vehicle sustained severe injuries and was air transported to an area hospital, according to deputies.

Three occupants of the vehicle that led the chase fled the area on foot.  Officers were able to track down 2 of the 3 people on board with the help of K-9 and air power.

One of the suspects was identified by the SJCSO as Leno M. Gee, 19, of Jacksonville. Gee was booked in the St. Johns County Jail for resisting an officer without violence.  Gee has outstanding warrants for various violent crimes in Duval County, according to deputies.

A female passenger of the vehicle has not been located and is still wanted by police.  Anyone with information about her identity and whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers (888)277-TIPS (8477).

The Florida Highway Patrol is still investigating the crash.
