JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Northeast Florida Green Chamber brings together businesses to promote growth, innovation, and success of sustainability. Whether businesses are aiming to reduce their environmental impact, strengthen their relationship with consumers, streamline operating costs or gain market share, developing a sustainable business strategy is their approach to good business practices.

The Northeast Florida Green Chamber, a chapter of the Green Chamber of the South, creates a forum to do business in a sustainable way, produce profit and promote the growth of sustainable economies in the Southeast.

The Northeast Florida Green Chamber facilitates the growth and promotion of sustainable businesses in Florida and the Southeast by providing opportunities for networking, education, business development and collaboration.

Helen Rake, an investment advisor, presides over the Green Chapter and wants to make Jacksonville a green hub for the southeast. "One initiative is with Visit Jacksonville, we have a consortium of sorts going. Visit Jacksonville, USGBC, and Green Meeting International are all trying to put together a program to eventuality make Jacksonville a green destination," says Rake.

Rake feels, in order for this to be a success, individuals need to get involved. She knows help from local organizations is a good start, but it's the help from the public that is most critical in sustaining a sustainable vision. "The Green Chamber is all about education and promoting and growing green and sustainable businesses on the First Coast. Join us, that would be the most help for us."
