JACKSONVILLE, Fla.-- When most people think about Jordan Russell Davis, they think of music.

The 17 year-old listened to it all the time and even made playlists and mixtapes for friends. Now, tunes are being played for him.

"Even if it's just a private moment sitting in the car coming from work. Just turn it up a couple of notches. Doesn't matter what the song is," attorney John Phillips said.

Jordan's family wanted one song in particular played at a tribute Friday evening. It was his favorite-- "Strawberry Letter 23" by The Brothers Johnson.

"Part of Strawberry Letter 23, it talks about the love, and finding love again," Phillips continued.

Phillips, the attorney for Jordan's family, decided to pause during his Toys for Tots and open house event to honor the teen. At 5 p.m., he and mourners across the country turned the dial up and increased the audio.

Until the court case is complete, the focus will be on remembering a life taken too soon.

"If one person can be touched and find love again from the death of Jordan Davis, it will be phenomenal. If 350 million can, it will be colossal."
