Restaurant Report visits Hop Shing, Beach Diner (Atlantic Beach) and Oasis Restaurant

Jacksonville, Fla. - Hop Shing is in the Atlantic Village shopping center in Atlantic Beach. We went by to see if they had cleaned up the kitchen after a recent health inspection.

The inspector found 22 critical violations including:

Food stored on the floor
Employees not washing their hands
Old food stuck to clean dishware 
Cleaning waste water dumped on the ground

The manager told us she couldn't understand our questions or give us any answers in English. We asked, "Would you let us come back into your kitchen so we can take a look?" She replied, "The owner not here. I no English."

After calling someone on the phone we didn't get much more out of our visit. After waiting and waiting and waiting... She told us, "Next time."
