Jacksonville, FLA.- For nine years now the Tokyo Japanese Restaurant has been open for business on Atlantic Boulevard in Jacksonville. We had a little bit of trouble communicating with Zu Hong Sheng when we asked to speak to a manager.
Sheng kept telling us there was no manager on duty to talk to us. After twenty minutes of waiting... Sheng finally explained to us that he IS the manager on duty... but he's just a little camera shy.
Sheng wanted to show us he fixed the following critical violations...
Tuna thawing out on the counter at the sushi bar
Employees washing hands with no hot water
Cutting boards used to cut raw fish not cleaned between use
Wall in the walk in fridge soiled with dust
No manager on duty
He showed us inside the walk-in cooler which is now spotless and there's no more thawing going on at the sushi bar.
The hot water is also now working at both hand wash sinks.
We asked Sheng what he would like to say to his customers. He replied, "We serve good sushi. We check every day for being clean and it's not gonna happen again!"
Mcdonald's Restaurant at 3750 West University Boulevard and The Ramada Inn Conference Center rounded out the top three restaurants this week with the most number of critical violations.
