JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- It was a sticky start to the work week. We got no lower than 76 degrees this morning in Jacksonville. Combined with the high humidity, it made for one muggy morning.

Through midday, temperatures were hovering around 90 degrees. Again, that heat index IS a factor. In fact, heat indicies inland will range between 100 and 105 degrees. That's the "feels like" temperature.

The sea breeze will be a BIG player with storm development into the evening, but drier air has already filtered in behind it to the north and east of Jax. So most of the storms will be inland.

Onshore winds will not be too strong over the next few days, but the fact that they ARE ONSHORE is important. Temperatures won't be as hot Tuesday/Wednesday, especially at the beaches where morning showers are possible.

We'll be heating up later in the week and over the weekend...with mostly dry conditions.

*JULY was MUCH wetter than normal. At Jacksonville International Airport, 8.65" fell for the month. That total is 2.10" above normal rainfall for July.
