Sailors return home to families
MAYPORT, Fla. -- A big day at Naval Station Mayport, as sailors aboard the USS Simpson return home from a six month deployment.
It will be a happy homecoming for about 200 families, as those sailors return from their service near Africa around 10 a.m. Tuesday.
The ship's team participated in maritime security operations, as well as community service projects in various countries, including Ghanna, Nigeria, Senegal and Cape Verde.
