JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- 32-year-old Robert Heck is in serious condition after being shot his own driveway early Friday morning. The shooting occurred in the Bartram Springs neighborhood located near the St. Johns County line. Police say the incident took place at approximately 4:30 a.m.
Police were called by someone believed to be on the phone with the victim at the time of the shooting.
The victim managed to get into his vehicle in a possible attempt to flee his attacker. Police found the injured victim at the intersection of U.S. 1 and Race Track Road.
Police are not releasing the names of any possible suspects, nor a motive, at the time of this post.
One lane of southbound traffic on U.S. 1 was closed Friday morning while police investigated. It has since been reopened.
