ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- The city of St Augustine is moving forward with trying to limit transient street vending.

During Monday night's City Commission meeting, the commission heard feedback from Jacksonville Beach's city attorney on making changes to the current ordinance.

Right now a rule on the books allows street vending in certain areas. But some argue it has gotten out of hand.

The biggest issue the commission faces is restricting vending could go against first amendment rights -- allowing the sale of items protected by free speech.

The commission plans to continue evaluating the ordinance to see what changes, if any, are possible.
