ALBANY, Ga. -- The Albany Police Department has arrested a suspect accused of shooting and killing a Jacksonville man late last year.

27-year-old James Russell was captured in a motel 6 in East Albany, Georgia late Friday Night.

Police believe Russell murdered 38-year-old Philippe Foster at the intersection of A Philip Randolph Boulevard and Jessie Street. Foster later died from his injuries

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office has issued a warrant for Russell's arrest in November 2012. They say a tip led them to Russell at the motel Friday. He is now being questioned by the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Russell is charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Marijuana, and Identity Theft. Police say all of those charges stem from the Motel 6 arrest. However, he does face more charges in Florida.

Russell will remain in custody in Georgia until a hearing is held on his murder charge.
