JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The TSA is now delaying the new policy that would allow small knives on planes.

In March, the TSA announced passengers would soon be allowed to carry previously banned pocket knives. But the announcement came with a lot of opposition. Flight attendants, pilots, federal air marshals and insurance companies were a part of the growing number of people against the policy.

The new policy would permit folding knives with blades that are 2.3 inches and are less than 1/2 inch wide. It also includes some sports equipment, like souvenir baseball bats and golf clubs. But items like box cutters and razor blades are still prohibited.

That new prohibited items list was originally scheduled to go into effect April 25th. The start date of the policy has now been pushed forward to an unknown date.
