JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Investigators need help from people in Jacksonville to fill in some holes in a murder investigation in central Florida.
Police found the body of Michelle Renee Chappell in her home in Titusville last weekend. The investigation led police to Brunswick where police chased the primary suspect, Christian Joseph Murphy, along I-95.
Murphy died in the crash. The 15-year-old driver survived.
Police in Titusville believe someone in Jacksonville unknowingly helped the pair in their getaway. Investigators suspect their car, a gold, 4-door Nissan Maxima, ran out of gas on I-95 in the Jacksonville area. Authorities believe another driver not only stopped to give them enough gas to get to a gas station, but also paid for their gas.
