JACKSONVILLE, Fla -- A brief wind shift to the east/northeast will bring cooler temperatures to Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia Friday. Highs will only manage to make it into the low to mid 60s at the beaches but will still reach the low 70s well inland. Winds will gust to more than 20 mph at and near the coast with an elevated rip current risk at area beaches. Just enough moisture will come ashore to trigger isolated showers from I-95 to the beaches but any rainfall will be brief and insignificant. Warmer temperatures will return for the weekend.
