JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- In parts of Georgia, the rain's been on and off all day. What a difference between the weather in Georgia versus Florida. Temperatures have soared once again in the Jacksonville area with southwest winds and periods of sun.
Meanwhile, the front continues to stretch across the Southeast U.S. Impulses of energy will ride along the front from Texas to the Carolinas. Tomorrow, the "kicker system" will finally move through our area (Florida included). Expect showers and thunderstorms to move from west to east as the front slides generally southeast.
We may see rain amounts exceed 1 inch, primarily in Georgia. It looks like a midday event for Jacksonville. However, clouds and showers will linger into Wednesday night as temperatures slowly turn cooler. The cold front will clear the area completely on Thursday as the sun emerges.
Much colder air moves in over the weekend with a second, more powerful cold front.
