JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A woman is in custody for allegedly shooting and killing her boyfriend before running to another house for help.
Maria Bratton, 55, was arrested Wednesday afternoon for the murder of Cecil Scroggie, 57.
Police were called to the area of Williams Street and Chaffee Road Wednesday morning after receiving a call about a shooting.
Scroggie was found dead at the scene from a gunshot wound.
Bratton was told officers on scene that she shot Scroggie. She was taken in for questioning and later arrested.
