This is also the site of the standby poll workers. There are currently 1,600 total poll workers at the 197 polling locations. Standby poll workers are ready to respond to issues at any of the precincts around the county.
There are also volunteers here sorting through the absentee ballots. Separating each sheet, so it can be processed later through a machine. So far about 72-thousand absentee ballots have come in.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Supervisor of Elections Office opened at 6 a.m. Standby poll workers are waiting, ready to head to polling locations if one of the 1,600 poll workers aren't able to fulfill their duty.
So far about 45% of Duval County voters have already cast a ballot. Voter turnout as a whole in Duval County is expected to be just shy of 80%.
According to the Supervisor of Elections office 173,000 voters took advantage of early voting. Another 69,000 have voted by mail.
Statewide, almost 40% of all Florida voters have already cast a ballot. That's about 4.5 million Floridians, out of the total 12-million registered voters in the state.
Even with nearly record breaking crowds for early voting, Supervisor of Elections Jerry Holland says he expects the usual Election day crowds.
Duval County Supervisor of Elections Jerry Holland says, "I think we'll still have some lines. I think what you'll see is lines in the morning, when people are going to work. And then for those who wait till the very end of the day, 5:30 and later, you're probably going to be standing in line an hour, up to 2 hours, in some locations."
There are 197 polling locations in Duval County. They will be open today from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
