Woman rescued by "Jaws of Life" in Gainesville
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Gainesville Fire Rescue spent the first minutes of Valentine's Day rescuing a woman from her wrecked car.
Firefighters responded to the accident on 1200 Northeast Waldo Road around 12:55 a.m. Emergency responders removed the door to the vehicle and had the woman safely on a backboard within 11 minutes of arriving on the scene.
Firefighters say the vehicle accident could have proved fatal, but the woman was wearing her seat belt so she only suffered minor injuries. She was taken to a local hospital for evaluation.
