The teenage years are among the most difficult, especially when it comes to formulating and maintaining a positive self-image. Try not to compare yourself to people you see on T-V or in the movies, or even your peers. It's important that you know your own strengths and talents and stick to the values taught to you by your parents, teachers, and religious leaders. Don't worry about things that you can't change, such as your height, but wanting to change some things, especially behaviors and bad habits, can be a good thing. It's O-K to ask for help in changing these habits, but make sure you're asking the right people. Overcoming a bad habit can make you feel good about yourself. Another way to get over worrying about your self-image is to do something for someone else. It's amazing when you do a good deed, or help someone else out--especially when you're not expecting anything in return--how you can be the one who reaps the benefits.
