NASSAU COUNTY, Fla. -- A crash involving an overturned pickup claimed the life of teenager from Byrceville Friday and has another in critical condition at Shands Jacksonville, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers say Dustin Hunt, 17, was driving westbound on Florida 119 when he decided to attempt to pass traffic going at a high rate of speed.
Hunt lost control of the red Chevrolet Silverado and ended up overturning, according to the crash report.
FHP says that Hunt was ejected from the vehicle and was transported by TraumaOne to Shands Jacksonville.
Hunt’s passenger, Kyle Warren, 15, was also transported to Shands Jacksonville and pronounced dead at hospital, according to first responders.
