GREEN COVE SPRINGS, Fla. -- Five people have been arrested as part of an investigation into an organized theft ring in Clay County.
The investigation began in June 2011 after the Green Cove Springs Police Department developed information about potential illegal activity.
Officers conducted several undercover operations to buy reportedly stolen merchandise.
Authorities arrested Abas Issa, 45, of Orange Park; Yousef Issa, 41, of Fleming Island; Antoun Arbaji, 35, of Jacksonville; Emad Abduljaber, 46, of Jacksonville; and George Salameh, 54, of Jacksonville.
Abas Issa faces five counts of RICO and organized dealing in stolen property.
Yousef Issa faces three counts of RICO and organized dealing in stolen property.
Arbaji faces three counts of RICO and organized dealing in stolen property.
Abduljaber faces one count of dealing in stolen property.
Salameh faces various federal violations.
Police used a warrant to search V&J Store, Green Cove Wireless and More, and a laundromat on Orange Avenue in Green Cove Springs.
The businesses are owned and operated by Abas and Yousef Issa.
All five suspects are being held in the Clay County Jail.
