JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The driver of an ambulance could face charges for a crash that sent a local man to the hospital.

The crash happened right in front of the Target store on San Jose Boulevard, just north of I-295.

Police say the ambulance, with its lights and sirens on, ran into the side of an Oldsmobile.

Authorities say the ambulance driver didn't see the other car as it pulled into the intersection.

The ambulance driver could face charges because, even though the ambulance had its lights and sirens flashing, the driver must slow down or stop for oncoming traffic, according to police.

The driver of the Oldsmobile went to Orange Park Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
