Need for speed not just for men anymore
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Elaine Larsen has been tearing up the asphalt in her jet dragster for 21 years. She is only one of three women qualified to race the 5,000 horsepower vehicle.
She's in Jacksonville for the next couple of days to promote the Daytona Spring Turkey Run. She'll be at the annual event this weekend taking on spectators in her racing simulator and giving them the opportunity to check out her car up close and personal.
The Daytona Spring Turkey Run is Saturday and Sunday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Daytona International Speedway. Entrance is $10 and kids 11 and under are free.
The Turkey Run is a classic car show and swap meet.
