VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. (WFTV) -- A Volusia County man is facing an attempted murder charge after he allegedly shot his friend through the window of the victim's home Friday night.
The shooting happened around 10 p.m. at the victim's home on Greenwood Avenue near Orange City.
According to deputies, the victim was in his living room when shotgun blasts were fired through the window. The victim was struck in the neck and the arm. He was taken to Halifax hospital with non-life threatening gunshot wounds, deputies said.
Investigators quickly identified 63-year-old Lawrence Craig as a suspect in the shooting. Craig is an acquaintance of the victim, officials said.
According to deputies, friends said Craig had been acting strangely lately and seemed aggressive and paranoid. Craig had allegedly threatened to kill his and the victim's mutual friends. The victim told investigators Craig was upset over a recent business transaction.
Additionally, the suspect's son-in-law told deputies Craig has a list of people he was planning to kill and that the shooting victim was at the top of the list.
Craig, who was later located at his home on Montrose Avenue, has been booked into the Volusia County jail. He is being charged with attempted murder, shooting into an occupied dwelling and use of a weapon during a felony.
