JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- One hundred sixty-three Duval County teachers were narrowed down to 15 semi-finalists. Today, a panel will determine the top 5 finalists of the EDDY Awards Teacher of the Year.
"A group will go around Publisher's Clearing House style with balloons and surprise the finalists in their classroom," said President of Jacksonville Public Education Fund Trey Csar.
The winner will be announced March 8 in an Oscar-type celebration at the Times-Union Center. The public is invited to attend. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at
