BRUNSWICK, Ga. -- Police are investigating the suspicious death of a Glynn County Commissioner.

Tom Sublett was found dead early this morning in the water at the St. Simons boating club.

Police say his death is suspicious.  Police found his car 150 yards from where they found his body.

Police say Sublett's wife called police to report her husband had yet to come home from a friends house near Sterling, Georgia.  The town is a 10 minute drive from Brunswick.

Sublett served as District 2 Commissioner since 2009. According to his biography on the Glynn County Commission web site, he leaves behind a wife of 23 years and four children.

He served as past chairman of the Golden Isles Chamber of Commerce.
