JACKSONVILLE, Fla.-- Michelle Skidmore can't wait to get her set of Natrelle 410's--better known as gummy bear implants
"It's such a great product, and I'm really really excited," she said.
Skidmore is in the medical field, so she's done her research. The gummy bear implants were just approved by the FDA, and are expected to give women the extra breast augmentation boost they're looking for.
"Great feel. They're safe. Less risk of leaking, which is huge for women these days," Skidmore continued.
Dr. Vaishali Doolabh agrees. She is the first surgeon in Northeast Florida to get certified for the surgery. She says saline and silicone implants have been the most popular so far, but gummies bring a lot to the table. In addition to volumizing, they hold a great shape, similar to the candy they're named after.
"I think this is a significant advancement. It gives us many more options as physicians that we can provide to patients," she said.
Skidmore is scheduled to have her surgery in April. She believes it will make her feel more beautiful and confident, and will recommend it to anyone.
"The gummy bears are completely a premium product," she said with a smile.
Those implants are being used in 40 other countries, and have been studied in the U.S. for 10 years.
