JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Donna Burnside and Gregg Chirico are dreaming of the day they'll hear their song play over the loud speakers at EverBank Field.
"Music is an amazing power. It's a healing power. It brings people together," says Chirico. "It's just awesome and I think that's what the team needs."
The song is called "Rock & Roar." It's on iTunes and there's a video on YouTube. Burnside and Chirico, who are longtime friends, collaborated on the song. Chirico, who plays in the band, Mr. Natural, is the singer.
"I just wanted an in-your-face party fun song," says Chirico.
Chirico and Burnside say they're loyal Jaguars fans. They hope their song will bring fans together and their Jags spirit will catch on with other fans.
"I grew up with a fight song for my team," says Burnside, who used to be a Miami Dolphins fan. "I tell you, I can't remember what I did yesterday but I remember every word of that Dolphins song."
And with a new coach and new owner, they believe it's the perfect time to begin a new chapter in Jaguars football, starting with a theme song.
"Kids need to grow up with that. It's important when they go to the games that they know their fight song, they can cheer with their parents," says Burnside. "It's really important and it stays with them for life."
