JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The new Jaguars head coach says the excitement and passion shown by the Jaguars leadership is what drew him to Jacksonville.

"Let's do it better than it's ever been done before," said head coach Gus Bradley.

The Jacksonville Jaguars introduced Bradley as the new head coach this morning.  Bradley takes over after the Jaguars went through the worst season in franchise history, finishing 2-14.

"This is a great day for the Jacksonville Jaguars," said owner Shad Khan.

The search took about a week.  A week ago the Jaguars hired a new General Manager, David Caldwell.

"I know I found the right man in Gus Bradley," beamed Caldwell, who spoke of Bradley's passion, energy, and attention to detail.

"Gus is a leader of men," he added. "I knew right away Gus was the right guy for this franchise."

The new head coach says the process has been dream-like.

"I think what sold me on this opportunity is the passion," said Bradley.

Bradley comes over from Seattle where he helped lead the Seahawks to the playoffs as the defensive coordinator.

"We're pretty pale because we haven't seen the sun in awhile," joked Bradley.  The new coach also added he did not bring the cold weather to northeast Florida from the Pacific Northwest.

Next up for Bradley is nailing down his staff.  He's looking for people who share a passion and excitement to win.

"We're trying to find coaches that have that same type of demeanor," said Bradley.

An evaluation of all the players is also on his list.

"We got to look at personnel and place them in the best position where they have an opportunity to succeed," said Bradley.

The new coach may be a defensive guy, but he hopes to have an explosive offense once his staff is through with the player evaluation process.

"I don't want all games to be 10-7," laughed Bradley.

Coach Bradley opened up about why he's named Gus.  He's first name is Paul, but his older brother gave him the nickname "Gus" as a kid, and it's stuck ever since.
