She may not have won American Idol Season 11, but Jessica Sanchez is determined to leave her mark on the music industry.
This week, the Idol runner up is spending some time in the Philippines prepping for her very first [headlining] concert and promoting her new project.
In a press conference on Monday, she told reporters to expect her album to be released in May! Her debut recording will feature collaborations with some major names [Ne-Yo and Mary J Blidge], and will be produced by hit-maker Harvey Mason Jr. (Justin Timberlake, Chris Brown, Britney Spears, and Jennifer Hudson).
Known for her big range and powerhouse vocals, Jessica says that she plans to stay away from the mature ballads that we heard on Idol, and sing about things she has experienced in her life.
“It will show the more fun, more pop side of me. While there are a couple of ballads, it’s mostly all about music you can move and dance to.”
In addition to her busy music career, Jessica is also getting ready for her appearance on Glee! “I never acted before, but I’m sure it will be a fun experience. And I’m really looking forward to it,” she said.
