Tens of thousands of hopefuls have been dwindled down to the top 40, and season 12 of American Idol is already promising some rising stars.
Over the past couple weeks contestants took on the infamous Hollywood Round...and honestly, going into things, there weren't many standouts for me. That has definitely changed. Let's talk ladies.
Angie Miller. She made a pretty good impression on the judges with her
first audition, but it was Thursday evening's solo performance that left everyone in awe. Not only did she WRITE this song but she accompanied herself on piano proving that she's got some songwriting skills to go along with her star power.

It's her 3rd time making it to Hollywood week, and I think THIS is the year that
Janelle Arthur makes it all the way to the top 12!
Her
first audition this season was great... and since then her star power has gotten stronger and stronger. To me, her standout performance came during group rounds...
Janelle has the look, the stage presence and the voice to take her far, not just in the competition but in the world of country music. Honestly, she could be the next Carrie Underwood. #LOVEHER
Kree Harrison is one who has flown a bit under the radar until this week. She may not have the "biggest" voice in the competition BUT her solo from Thursday night's show is the ONE performance that I have played over and over again.
This may be her first trip to Hollywood on American Idol but Kree is a seasoned musician and songwriter based in Nashville, TN. She also plays guitar - so I'm sure we'll be seeing that in the near future. I love this Faith Hill cover she did back in 2008:
Okay... ONE MORE! Cristabel Clack... I absolutely LOVE this girl. I love her style and spunk but most of all, she's got such a unique quality to her voice.
4 days ago she posted this video on YouTube - showcasing her "worship leader" style. Just gorgeous!
I think what I love most about her voice is the emotion that naturally shows through when she sings. Now, the fact that this video was posted a few days ago leads me to believe that she has since been cut from the competition - BUT let's hope that's not the case! :) #TeamCristabel
So that wraps up my favorite ladies so far... but I can't forget to mention the "OMG" moment of the season... two words: Zoanette Johnson.
I'm not sure what exactly to think about her.... this performance was a hot mess but yet I couldn't stop watching it. Is Zoanette the next American Idol? -Probably not... but she IS great for television!
