JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A local mother is in jail facing a number of sex-related charges involving minors at her home.
Cherelyn Laura McDonald, 40, faces lewd and lascivious battery charges of engaging in sexual activity with a person between the ages of 12 and 16. She's also charged with five counts of encouraging or enticing a person under the age of 16 to engage in sexual activity, and three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a child.
Lori Hart had her own suspicions something inappropriate was happening inside the house.
"Lots of traffic in and out of the house with lots of young kids. Felt like there was a lot of unsupervised activity going on in the house," said Hart.
The heavily-redacted police report talks of oral sex, alcohol provided by the suspect, making out on the sofa in the living room and "doing everything but have sex."
Mother Trudy Braumgardner says she always makes a point to know where her teenage sons are and who they are with.
"I think as parents we have a higher responsibility," said Braumgardner. "If we're going to teach our children morals, integrity, character, we certainly don't demonstrate that by allowing certain behaviors."
