Man rescued from Gainesville biomass plant
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- A worker was taken to the hospital after being rescued from a biomass plant after he had a medical condition.
Gainesville Fire Rescue was called about 10 a.m. Wednesday to the Gainesville Renewable Energy Center at 11201 N.W. U.S. Highway 441.
Plant workers had called to say a worker had a medical condition several hundred feet in the air. The Technical Rescue Team lowered the man by rope to a ladder truck and then to paramedics waiting on the ground.
The man was taken to Shands Hospital for evaluation.
