Police link two crime scenes to homicide investigation

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Homicide Unit is investigating a crime at two separate scenes
on the Westside. Action News has learned the scenes are linked. 

Action News captured images of JSO swarming a 7-11 near the corner of Lane Avenue South and Lenox Avenue.

An Action News reporter spotted a K-9 unit searching near Canterbury Gardens Apartments, also on Lane Avenue.

Police have released few details but are still on the search for a person of interest in an attempted murder.

Police are still on the search for Edward Lamont Hicks. Hicks is wanted for Attempted Murder & Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.

They believe he fled the scene in a black Ford-150 with FL tag AYA8230.

Samson A. Woods, 32, has been arrested in regards to the investigation and is charged with Aggravated Assault with a Firearm, Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and Accessory after the fact.
