Suspect arrested in fatal hit-and-run of FSU student

OCALA, Fla. -- An FSU student was hit and killed on Thanksgiving morning in Marion County while he attempted to cross a street.

Alex McDonald, 23, was crossing South Pine Avenue around 1 a.m. when he was struck by a vehicle driven by 26-year-old Joseph Stewart according to the Ocala Police Department.

Stewart left the scene and was arrested a few hours later.

He is charged with Hit an Run.

Toxicology reports are still pending.

McDonald was the president of the Sigma Alpha Epilson fraternity.
