JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A teenager was shot and killed following a dice game near St. Nicholas.

The incident happened early Saturday morning at an apartment complex on Art Museum Drive.

According to JSO the teen was playing a game of dice when two men walked up, robbed and shot him.

The family of the 16-year-old tells Action News he is Ranod Iashawn McKann. Rendard was a football player at Arlington Country Day High School.

"It broke my heart. I loved him, my only brother," said Ranod's older brother, Robert.

Allen Curry says he doesn't know how he will move forward without his best friend. "He'll come to my house every morning or I'm coming to his house. I got to see him everyday. If I don't see nobody else, I'm going to see him and it hurts so bad."

Bishop Terrance Callaway, the Pastor of New Life Cathedral Baptist Church and the Principal of Wisdom Academy where McKann once attended, has announced that he and his Church will pay for the funeral of their former student who was killed this morning near his home. The church is also offering a $1,000 reward for any information that leads to the arrest and conviction of whoever is responsible for McKann's murder.

"I think it's an atrocity to the community, said Calloway."  "Just a young kid, life cut short."

Officers are still looking for suspects.

Call Crime Stoppers at 1-866-845-TIPS.  You will remain anonymous and could receive a cash reward of up to $1,000 if your tip leads to an arrest.
