JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office makes an arrest after a deadly shooting that took place at a Westside home Thursday night.

Police say it started with a domestic battery call. A woman claimed her husband hit her at their home on Congaree Court in Arlington Thursday.

When police arrived to the scene, the husband Jason Franklin, 30, was not there.

An hour and a half later police responded to another call on Romford court. There investigators found a man shot in the back of the head.

Police say Franklin killed the victim, Edward Gonzalez, 34, because his wife was having an affair with the victim.

Police say Franklin returned to his home on Congaree court and told his wife that he shot Gonzalez. She called 911. Police arrived at their home and took Franklin into custody.
