WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.(Palm Beach Post) -- A 34-year-old suburban Lake Worth woman is accused of severely beating her mother and removing her eyes.

Ferna Quesner is facing attempted murder charges after the attack on the Fourth of July. Palm Beach County Sheriff's deputies say Blonia Quesner, 59, now also has bleeding in her brain, a broken nose and two broken forearms.

Ferna Quesner was first arrested late Thursdayon a charge of aggravated battery, but after deputies executed a search warrant and learned of her mother's worsening condition, they also charged her with attempted first-degree murder.

Deputies received at least two 911 calls alerting them to Quesner's apartment on Gulfstream Road around 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
Inside the home, deputies found Blonia Quesner on the ground. She was unconscious and was bleeding "excessively," according to a sheriff's probable cause affidavit. Standing next to her was Ferna Quesner, with blood all over her white T-shirt.

"I don't want to go to prison," she allegedly said in front of the deputies. While pointing toward her mother, she also said, "I was trying to kill the cat and she is the cat."

Deputies noticed that Blonia Quesner was lying on top of a pole, which appeared to be a broken lamp stand.

One of the 911 callers, Josue Leyva, 28, told deputies he was outside Quesner's apartment when he heard screaming. He walked up to the apartment and saw that Blonia Quesner was severely injured.

Another caller, a 14-year-old girl who lives nearby, said she saw Ferna Quesner dragging Blonia Quesner by her hair into the apartment. Blonia Quesner appeared to be struggling and trying to get away from her daughter, but she couldn't.

Deputies arrested Ferna Quesner Thursday evening. As the night progressed, Blonia Quesner's condition worsened. Her nose was broken, her forearms were broken, her brain was bleeding, and both of her eyes removed. She was in critical condition.

Deputies executed a search warrant early Friday morning.
In the home, they found the victim's eyes on the kitchen floor, near a knife and a large pool of blood. Deputies also found a 10-pound circular weight, which was damaged, with blood on it.

Deputies believe Blonia Quesner was "excessively battered" with a blunt object before the knife was used.
