Human remains found in Glynn County on Tuesday afternoon have been confirmed to be those of a missing 72-year-old woman.
Linda Mansfield was reported missing from her home, in the 100 block of MacKay Drive on May 23.
The remains were found in a wooded area off Georgia Highway 32 near the Thalmann community on Tuesday, according to a release from the Glynn County Police Department.
Mansfield was tentatively identified when the pacemaker serial number found on the remains matched the pacemaker serial number on Mansfield's medical records.
On Friday, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation positively identified the remains as Mansfield through a dental examination.
Mansfield's son, John William Rosevelt, was indicted by a grand jury for a murder charge in connection with her death and is still in the Glynn County Detention Center, authorities said.
Anyone with any information in the investigation into Mansfield's death is asked to call Investigator Jeff Williams at 912-554-7802 or the Silent Witness line at 912-264-1333.
