A man was shot in the head early Sunday at a Southside condominium, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office said.
Officers were sent to the SouthBrook Condominiums at 1:45 a.m. and found a man with a life-threatening gunshot wound to the head.
The victim was alert and conscious when he was taken to the hospital, police said. They said he was able to give them a brief suspect description.
At this time, JSO said it’s unclear if the victim and shooter knew each other.
Investigators said the shooting happening inside the condo, but the victim did not live there.
The man who owns the condo was at the scene. He tells Action News Jax his son lives in the condo. the father said he had found out that his son had a roommate.
The condo owner said police told him that this son was not there at the time of the shooting.
“I wish that this didn’t happen,” Menderes Catikkaya said. “This is a nice neighborhood. That’s why I bought the condo.”
JSO is asking anyone with information to contact them or Crime Stoppers.
