BAKER COUNTY, Fla. - Baker County deputies say several people had a variety of drugs – including meth, MDMA and crack cocaine – on them when they were arrested in a months-long sting.

The investigation began in June and ended Thursday. Deputies made the latest arrests on Monday.

According to officials, more than half of the suspects were arrested for possessing or selling drugs within 1,000 feet of Keller Intermediate School.

Several parents told Action News Jax that they weren’t surprised to hear about the arrests.

“I have heard some concerns about people wandering around the school,” Daniel Simons said.

Simons said he knows the school is safe and he believes children know better than to get involved with any drug activity around the school.

Alan Bolser takes his grandson to and from Keller Intermediate. He said he worries the drug activity could lead to worse crime.

“It don’t make me feel good because I know other bad things come with it, people bringing out the guns,” Bolser said.

Bolser and Simons both say they are glad to see the sheriff’s office putting drug dealers behind bars.

“They really do crack down on the drug dealers,” Simons said.

Baker County deputies say more arrests are pending.
