PALM BEACH, Fla. (PBP) -- A Boynton Beach man was arrested Monday morning after police found more than 50 images of child pornography on his computer, according to a probable cause affidavit.

Seth Marks, 47, faces charges of child pornography, possession of cocaine within 1000 feet of a school and possession of drug paraphernalia. Marks was taken to the Palm Beach County jail. Bail information was not immediately available.

Boynton Beach Police executed a search warrant at Marks’ home on Monday morning. With the assistance of the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Computer Crimes Unit, more than 50 images of child pornography were allegedly found on Marks’ two computers. The affidavit states the videos were of boys between 7 and 14 years old engaged in sexual acts.

Asked by police if he “produced” child porn, Marks responded that “he never touched a child and got the images off the Internet,” the affidavit states.

Several peer to peer software programs known to share child pornography were found on Marks’ computers, police said.

During a search of his home at 300 NE 26th Avenue, police found one gram of cocaine in a bag and drug paraphernalia on a nightstand in Marks’ bedroom. Marks lives within 1000 feet of Rolling Green Elementary School.

Marks first came to the police’s attention last week after Google reported to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) that one of its customers had uploaded two images of child pornography in November on an email draft. The NCMEC then forwarded the information to the South Florida Internet Crimes Against Children Task force based out of the sheriff’s office.

After a subpoena was issued for the IP address flagged by Google, a sheriff’s detective learned that the address was assigned to Marks. Because Marks resides in Boynton Beach, the case was handed off from the sheriff’s office to the city’s police department.
