JUPITER, Fla. (PBP) -- The Jupiter man who prompted a U.S. Coast Guard search after his boat was found Friday abandoned near Jupiter Beach Inlet was arrested Thursday morning on DUI charge, according to court records.

Dominic Porcaro, 64, was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail on Thursday at 2:09 a.m. and released on his own recognizance at 6:35 a.m.

Porcaro’s 26-foot cuddy cabin Happy Day Tree was found aground near Jupiter Beach Inlet around 1 a.m. Friday by Juno Beach Police who then contacted the Coast Guard.

The search for Porcaro includes a rescue helicopter, and an airplane as well as Coast Guard Cutter Robert Yered and small-boat crews out of the Coast Guard’s Fort Pierce and Lake Worth stations.
