Jackson State to face Tulane, host five in 2013

Jackson, MS (Sports Network) - Jackson State's football team will open the 2013 season at Tulane and play five home games as part of an 11-game schedule.

The Tigers will visit Tulane on Aug. 31. Their other non-conference game will be against rival Tennessee State from the Ohio Valley Conference in the Southern Heritage Classic on Sept. 14 in Memphis, Tenn.

All of the Tigers' home games will be against Southwestern Athletic Conference opponents: Alabama State (Sept. 7), Texas Southern (Sept. 21), Arkansas-Pine Bluff (Oct. 5), Grambling State (Oct. 19, Homecoming) and Alcorn State (Nov. 16)

Jackson State also will play SWAC games on the road against Southern (Sept. 28), Mississippi Valley State (Oct. 12), Prairie View A&M (Oct. 26) and Alabama A&M (Nov. 9).

The Tigers finished with a 7-5 record under coach Rick Comegy this past season.
