Ann Arbor, MI (Sports Network) - Michigan Wolverines running back Fitzgerald Toussaint sustained a left leg injury in the first quarter of Saturday's matchup with Iowa and had to be taken off the field on a stretcher.

Toussaint converted a 3rd-and-3 with a 10-yard run on Michigan's opening possession, but the junior running back came down awkwardly on his left leg.

The trainers quickly tended to Toussaint and he was carted off the field before being taken to a local hospital.

Entering play on Saturday, Toussaint had rushed for 483 yards and five touchdowns on 127 carries.
