PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. - THE PLAYERS Championship week is here and the course is almost ready to go after taking a pounding from mother nature the last few days.

The grounds crew here at TPC Sawgrass is confident that the course will play its normal fast, firm and difficult self when things get going on Thursday.

TPC Sawgrass General Manager Bill Hughes told Action Sports today that the greens were cut eight times on Sunday, they were cut more times today and also rolled four times today to get the moisture out and build the speed of the greens.

On Monday, the course was closed to the public but there were plenty of golfers on the course, on the practice range and on the putting greens. It feels like a typical Monday at THE PLAYERS Championship.
