JACKSONVILLE, Fla.--The buzz in the sports world on Thursday is that Bill O'Brien will take the Penn State job.  The New England Patriots offensive coordinator is still busy with the NFL Playoffs but is interviewing with Penn State today.  He is part of the Bill Belichick coaching tree that gets some love every offseason despite never really turning out any success stories.

Who couldn't look like a genius with Tom Brady at quarterback?  Ironically, it was a dust up with the future Hall of Famer on the sideline after he threw an interception that brought O'Brien's name into play for most of us.  It will be a tough sell at Penn State after the firing of legendary head coach Joe Paterno for the sex scandal.  Who knows?  It looks like Bill O'Brien is out of the running for the Jags job with one caveat.  I spoke to someone close to O'Brien and he told me that he spoke to him yesterday and O'Brien told him that he always wanted to be an NFL head coach, he wasn't sure about Penn State and to not believe the hype.
