MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. -- The Florida State Seminoles wrapped up a 12 win season with a 31-10 win over the Huskies of Northern Illinois in the Orange Bowl last night. Lonnie Pryor is the Orange Bowl MVP in his final game for FSU. Prior had 5 carries for 134 yards and two touchdowns.

The game marks the end of the stellar career of quarterback EJ Manuel. The senior winds up 26-6 as the staring quarterback. NIU hung tough in the first half but the Noles' size and speed wore them out in the second half.

FSU doubled the Huskies in total yards out gaining NIU 534 to 259. So much for comments from Huskies quarterback Jordan Lynch who said that Florida State had never seen an offense like the one NIU runs. Things got a little testy in the post game interviews when head coach Rod Carey said the quotes were inaccurate, that he never said it and the reporter was just looking for a story.

We will have more on that deal later today on Action News @ 6. Check us out on AS360 this weekend where we will take a look at the Noles prospects for next season and Dave DeCandis talks with FSU defensive end Bjoern Werner. The star could be the Jags top draft pick next season.
