GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) - Brad Lawing has left South Carolina to become Florida's defensive line coach and assistant head coach.  Lawing has 33 years of coaching experience, including 29 on the defensive line. He had been South Carolina's D-line coach since 2006 and just finished his 17th season with the Gamecocks.

He replaces Dan Quinn, who was Florida's defensive coordinator and line coach. Quinn left last week, returning to the NFL as Seattle's defensive coordinator.

Gators coach Will Muschamp says Lawing's "track record speaks for itself. His nearly three decades of experience coaching defensive lineman, his familiarity with the SEC and our shared philosophical beliefs make him a perfect fit for our program."

Florida lost junior defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd, but returns Dominique Easley, Ron Powell, Damien Jacobs, Dante Fowler and Jonathan Bullard.
